Welcome to Hebron, located 30 km south of Jerusalem, in the biblical region of Judea.
The most famous historic site in Hebron sits on the Cave of the Patriarchs. The site is holy to all three Abrahamic faiths, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Hebron has been the scene of many conflicts between Jews and Arabs for much of the last century.

Lady Boys' Show in Bangkok.  My sweet gift from Faai.
Calypso  cabaret  performance at Asia Hotel. Performers are all men performing as women. Full of glittering costumes and thrilling musical acts, a lot of humour too, just perfect for my last night in Bangkok.

The women who wear these brass rings on their neck belong to a sub-group of the Karen known as the Padaung. The most common explanation for wearing those rings is that an extra-long neck is considered as a sign of great beauty and wealth and that it will attract a better husband.

Looking at this beautiful girl, I can't stop thinking that if she continues this tradition it can be only because of the business from hill-tribe trekking tours.

Colourful hand made scarfs.

Treking in Mae Tang, few hours walking to discover and sleep at the Long Neck Village - Karen Tribe.
The Karen come from Burma, they have suffered opression at the hands of successive regimes. Forced re-settlement and labor, incarceration, denial of political representation and citizenship status rights among other human rights violations have led thousands of Karen to move into Thailand. While many argue that they have a better life there, their status is yet unsure. Many of them are in Thailand as refugees.

In Tonsai Village, this little girl was very interesting by my pink monkey,
I offer her but she refused saying that it was mine,
finally her mum told her that she could accept it, she was so happy.
I received from her many flying kisses ***
